We Celebrate Differently, A Very Different Feast Inded!

Everyone dreams of celebrating an occasion quite differently than that of others. That's human nature and there's nothing wrong with that. Others may dream but we the citizens of Malaysia living along Lundu-Biawak Road always celebrate differently. We don't just celebrate, we feast. This "tradition" started since I was a primary school boy and continues till this day. In fact, we "celebrate and feast" not only during seasons, but almost everyday. I am now almost half a centenarian and we can all calculate how long that is.

Feast? Yes, we feast, not just with food and drinks, but most importantly with dust. It is so much different that we couldn't really believe that we are living in wealthy and prosperous Malaysia, abound with natural wealth and lead by concerned and wise leaders of our own choice. The fault they say is naturally ours because we have voted for the government of the day since democracy and free election was introduced to us. On that I would not know because I am not a politician but one thing I am very sure is that our perils and anguish may not be over so soon. Yes we have heard promises after promises of when our feeding with dusts will stop but then again even kindergarten kids can promise us that they can level mountains and transformed seas into land.

Why then is our celebration so different from that by others? Consider the following justifications as explained under each following pictures.

Before you continue reading, just a polite reminder. If you find it off topic or not at all related, please bear with me for that could be the effect of so much dust inside my lung and eyes already. Imagine breathing dust since 1972...

The moment we take the Lundu-Biawak route, a feast of dust will gladly welcome us. How generous we are feasted with dust depends on how many vehicles are in the convoy or if there are other vehicles traveling on the opposite direction. It's quite a mild feast here because the dog still can afford to take it easy in the middle of the road.

This motorcyclist (and pillion) is really celebrating a good feast of dust here. He needs not be a David Copperfield or a David Blaine to be invisible because this trick is easily mastered the moment one travels along this route.

For a more lavish feast of dust, a vehicle driver only needs to overtake others so that those behind will really celebrate. What's more fun is that even gargantuan size vehicles will remain hidden as long as they are within a few meters behind.

The two motorcyclists seen in the picture must have been amongst the luckiest travelers for the day because a few seconds later when we travel past each other, the feast of dust will flow freely. Proof of the celebration is when his mustache and his hair will turn grayish or whitish. No hair dye is needed for him to temporarily spot a blond look.

No one has committed an open burning here and neither has El Nino arrived yet. But the road is doing a self invisibility act here though the sun above is so bright and clear. I dare bet not even Harry Houdini can reenact this scene.

Even a dog is not excluded in this feast celebration. However though, SPCA has not issued any advice as to weather feasting pet animals with a free voluminous amount is tantamount to an act of cruelty against animals

Amongst God's creation that really enjoyed the feast celebration are the roadside plants and greeneries. Also, their human neighbours who have their homes just by the roadsides will similarly doused themselves with this menu, almost twenty four-seven, three six five.

The road under it's best condition, especially during maintenance period, will generate an even more bountiful festive source of dust. However though, owners of expensive luxury vehicles rarely experience this extraordinary phenomena because both owners and their vehicles seem to develop some kind of an allergy to this kind of feast.

Imagine if this vehicle is a Mercedes Benz or a BMW having a free glaze of tint specially developed from dust is used to visit friends and acquaintances during other celebratory occasions?

All vehicles (occupants and owners), including wedding cars used to transport just wedded couples are not spared from from experiencing this peculiar festival celebration.

We have a dream. A dream of having a shiny wedding vehicles to transport our wedded sons and daughters like in the picture above. So far, it remains only a dream... And those dreams, if not fulfilled, will surely one day transformed into unpleasant and unmanageable screams.

Should we be a little bit "kurang ajar" in our attitude and actions towards our politicians who decide 0n our dreams (to be true or just dreams)?

The older people along Lundu -Biawak road had lived and died suffering the dusty feast...some perhaps still dreaming in their graveyards hopping for their Very Respected Representatives to fulfill their dream of ending the dusty festivals.

Or are the people living along Lundu -Biawak Road really happy feasting with the dust? Where is the Tok Batin? Why keep on dreaming when you have brains to force open your mouth to SCREAM.........!!!

Dear Pak Ayie Ayie,

Though I have heard that the tender for upgrading Lundu-Biawak Road was already out, I would rather remain doubtful and pessimistic until such time that the entire length of the road, from end to end, is completely tar sealed right in front of the very eyes of mine.

And YES, the people living along the road will definitely SCREAM. It's now like a dormant volcano just waiting for the time to erupt.

Najib is going to Kpg Pichin with excellent highway and dust free.

Maybe the community of Lundu-Biawak should invite Najib to their area.

The time is NOW to rethink about changing the current leadership in the next state election!

There's a trend right now among the Bidayuhs within the Penrissen-Padawan area: They have boycotted their YB and MP by not inviting them to their privately organized social gatherings!
